SpongeBob Moves In Review
SpongeBob Moves In is an app for Ipad and Iphone which centres around Spongebob (obvious when you read the title). Since I have not seen Spongebob in years (last one I saw was the movie) “SpongeBob SquarePants (often referred to simply as SpongeBob) is an American animated television series, created by marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg. Much of the series centers on the exploits and adventures of the title character and his various friends in the fictional underwater city of Bikini Bottom. The series' popularity has prompted the release of a media franchise, contributing to its position as Nickelodeon's highest rated show, the most distributed property of MTV Networks, and among Nicktoons' most watched shows. The media franchise generated an $8 billion merchandising revenue for Nickelodeon.” The game is buggy at best, it has poor frame rate and randomly crashes and it is not just me just go to the comments on the page and you will see that lots of people have this problem. The game is being updated rather constantly and so this might be patched I am not sure if it will be done well or not. The game feels like a cash in to get money from fans from the show (well their parents probably). The micro transactions are pretty poor as well I get that they need to, to keep the business above water and not go bankrupt but you almost can’t accomplish anything unless you spend money. “Dive into Day 1 of SpongeBob’s life in Bikini Bottom! Move him into his Pineapple house, get a job at the Krusty Krab, and build your very own Bikini Bottom! As your town turns into a thriving undersea city, you’ll unlock new characters, buildings, decorations, and areas like Jellyfish Fields.” They keep to this description but the game is bogged down by engine problems and money snatching problems. The game has some appeal in the slowly building up a town with characters from childhood but that is mostly nostalgia. “Watch how SpongeBob arrived at Bikini Bottom, See how Patrick found his rock, learn about Mr. Krabs’ early days at The Krusty Krab” they have cut scenes in the game which explain how all the cast and residents of Bikini Bottom came to live there. Am I the only one who never wondered how the characters got there I mean why should we wonder?

I would only recommend it to fans of the show so long as they have the parents who don’t mind losing a lot of money creating reality for fictional characters. So I think that you would need to be in a very small demographic to fully enjoy this game.
