Activision have joined the celebration of 50th anniversary of James Bond with the release of 007 Legends. The game which is available to buy now, is the latest installment in the Bond franchise.
007 Legends is first person shooter that allows gamers to play as 007, and features a story inspired by five Bond classic movies. 007 Legends will feature a single player campaign mode and includes both local and online multiplayer.
David Oxford, of Activision Publishing spoke about what players should expect from the game stating:
“The team at Eurocom has really outdone themselves this time with 007 Legends. Delivering a very unique and comprehensive Bond video game we’re sure fans will enjoy playing.” … “Fans not only get to experience these great, defining moments from Bond’s past that have made him the spy he is today. They also get to become Daniel Craig’s modern-day Bond, and play through an all-new mission based on the upcoming Skyfall movie that comes out as DLC. This really is the most robust and unique Bond video game experience to date.”
007 Legends allows gamers to explore Bonds gritty journey over the past 50 years. Each mission in the game is inspired by a Bond movie and features multiple levels. The game will include state of the art gadgets, weaponry and vehicles for players to explore. In 007 legends players will have to use wit, combat expertise and stealth to take down the famous villains and their henchmen.
The movies which are said to inspire 007 Legends include; Goldfinger, Moonraker, Licence to Kill, and Die Another Day. Additionally, 007 Legends will feature a sixth mission based on this year’s Bond movie Skyfall which will be available as DLC. The DLC is timed to the release of Skyfall release of the feature film, subscribers to the PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE network will gain exclusive early access to the SKYFALL mission on November 9th across all platforms.
007 Legends features an impressive roster of past and present Bond film talent. This includes current 007 Daniel Craig, Michael Lonsdale as Hugo Drax and Richard Kiel as infamous henchman, Jaws. Naomie Harris and Judi has also joined the vocal cast their characters from Skyfall. Toby Stephens and Cary Lowell will also reprise their roles as Gustav Graves and Agent Pam Bouvier.
007 Legends is available now for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
The Windows PC version, which will be available on Steam, will launch on 2nd November. A Wii U version of the game is planned to release in December.
