Gamebase USA Integrates With RakNet

Gamebase USA has worked RakNet networking technology into their Gamebryo 4.0 game engine.

“We are excited to add RakNet to the Gamebryo framework. The RakNet C++ networking integration is one of the many ways we continue to enhance Gamebryo,” said Gabriel Liberty, Technical Director at Gamebase USA.

With this new integration of technology, RakNet’s C++ game engine will increase Gamebryo’s voice chat, lobby system, security, host migration, and cross-platform play. Gamebase is already best known for its industry-leading 3D game engines such as Gamebyro and LightSpeed. They have been selected by studios worldwide to create roughly 300 titles spanning over 15 genres and bring them out to the public. Such titles include Rocksmith, Epic Mickey, Civilization IV: Colonization, Catherine, Fallout 3, WarHammer Online: Age of Reckoning, Bully, and El Shaddai.

“Gamebryo is recognized globally as a high quality and efficient development platform; it was no surprise that RakNet easily integrated with the engine,” said Kevin Jenkins, president of Jenkins Software, RakNet’s developer. “Raknet continues to be the industry choice for networked game development and we look forward to working closely with the Gamebryo development team.”
