Aeria games have just announced a Scarlet Blade update offering a generous dollop of new content for their increasingly successful free MMORPG. Described as a “mature free-to-play MMORPG” Scarlet Blade has never had a content update worth talking about up to this point and now they are more than making up for it. The plethora of goodies coming your way include a raised level cap, powerful new gear, and several dangerous new areas to explore.
Prior to the update once your Arkana had reached level 30 you would have had nowhere to go from there, but this will trouble you no more. Aeria have now given you four more levels to grow, and in addition to that a lovely amount of brand-new areas such as Barbiron which is an area tailored for the level 30’s and up, and solely for the Scarlet Blade elite unless you want your face kicked clean off.
The equally new and equally challenging, high-level only Subterranean Factory is a diabolical dungeon with a whole new array of monsters. Deep inside the Factory also hides four bosses who are just dying to kick you and your intrepid groups to death as often as possible.
For those of you who prefer to fight amongst yourselves, the Scarlet Blade update allows it so you may now visit Viledon. This area is a whole new open-world PvP battleground with the potential to hold hundreds of combatants and a generous array of missions, bosses and monsters to take on and to fight over. The most interesting, exciting and potentially the most frustrating of which, are the escort missions wherein you must protect cargo or NPCs as you travel across the new area while members of the enemy faction do everything they can to get in your way and sabotage the mission.
