Bioshock Infinite, the best-selling multiplatform game of 2013, has received its first dose of downloadable content with the release of the ‘Clash in the Clouds’ content pack across all platforms.
Irrational Games, the studio behind Bioshock Infinite and its DLC, describes Clash in the Clouds as an action-focused experience, which provides players with a host of tricky challenges to try and overcome, in the form of waves of enemies. The action takes place across four arenas based on some of Columbia’s most iconic environments and will provide players will a wide variety of combat opportunities. The arenas are loaded with all of Infinite’s combat staples, including a diverse range of weapons, sky-lines, tears, gear and Vigors, meaning that players can tackle a challenge in any way they want to. In fact, the player is encouraged to kill enemies in creative and innovative ways, and is rewarded with points, which move you up the leaderboard, and coins to upgrade weapons and vigors between challenges.
While the primary objective is just to survive these challenges, there are secondary ‘blue ribbon’ objectives as well. These objectives often push players to experiment with their choices of weaponry, and include using a specific weapon or vigor to kill a certain number of enemies, or even something as simple as a time limit in which to secure victory. For completing these more difficult challenges the player is rewarded with exclusives in the Columbian Archeological Society such as concept art, Voxophones and Kinectoscopes, allowing players to delve even deeper into the rich society and culture of Columbia.
Irrational Games also announced that they are also developing a second Bioshock Infinite DLC pack. Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea is a two-part story-driven campaign which returns players to the setting of the first two Bioshock games: the underwater city of Rapture. Burial at Sea places Booker and Elizabeth in the doomed city in the days before its collapse, and will give provide players with a previously unseen look at how Rapture was before its society crumbled.

With Clash in the Clouds, people get a pure action experience that takes BioShock Infinite combat to its highest challenge and intensity level. With the Burial at Sea episodes, we are building a Rapture-based narrative experience that is almost entirely built from scratch.”
Clash in the Clouds is available to download right now for $4.99 (or 400 Microsoft points for Xbox 360 users), and each part of Burial at Sea will be available for $15.00 (or 1200 Microsoft points), though no release date has been given for the return to Rapture. All of this content as well as power-ups and exclusives for the original Bioshock Infinite game are available as part of the Bioshock Infinite Season Pass, costing $19.99 (1600 Microsoft points).
