Mega Man X Charity Marathon this weekend

24-Hour Marathon to raise $5,000 for Child’s Play Charity

A 24-hour Mega Man X Charity Marathon is to be hosting by Florida-based gaming organisation Unity Storm this weekend. The event will take the form of a 24 hour live feed of Storm Unity volunteers and employees trying to blitz as much Mega Man as possible, all for charity.

Child's_Play_Logo_updatedThe event starts at 12:00pm on Saturday 12th October and can be streamed live from the Storm Unity twitch account.

Storm Unity have got a lot of things planned for the 24 hour feed, including trying to complete all 8 original Mega Man X games, as well as a raffle open to anyone who donates $5 or more to Child’s Play during the course of the live stream. The list of prizes is huge, including Mega Man inspired hats and t-shirts, Steam codes, headsets, exclusive access to some indie titles and more.

100% of the money donated will go to Child’s Play, a charity that tries to improve the lives of children in hospitals across the globe through toys and games for them to play, and sometimes aid in their recovery and development. Donators usually have the choice between donating cash to the charity, or picking a specific hospital and then a specific item from their wish list to be donated. For more information on the charity, visit www.childsplaycharity.org.

The last Storm Unity marathon event raised $1,250, and the team are optimistic, with the target for this weekend’s event set at quadruple that: $5,000.

Be sure not to miss out on the event, and do your bit for charity! This Saturday 12th October at 12:00pm.
