Gameforge announced that their free-to-play fantasy MMO, AION, will be adding a third class with Update 4.5 later this year. The ‘Rider’ class gives players a mechanical warrior, perfect for close-quarters combat, thanks to its devastating melee attacks and heavy fire-power.
The announcement follows confirmation that Update 4.0 will introduce two new classes this August, giving AION players a wide range of new content to look forward to this year.

About AION Free-to-Play:
Since the launch of AION’s free version, over 2.7 million new accounts have been registered: currently over 3.5 million players are roaming the world of Atreia. Gameforge opened four additional game servers shortly after its release, to provide these players with plenty of space. Version 3.0, AION’s most extensive update yet, enhanced the game with new content such as housing, the weather system, new jobs and mounts. Update 3.5 focussed on additional content for high-level PvE and PvP players, while the current version 3.9 brought beginner and instance servers to Atreia.
