Team17 Digital Limited have announced that Alien Breed is out now for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. The game can be downloaded from the PlayStation Network for £6.49/€7.99/$9.99, PS plus members will also receive a 20% launch discount.
Alien Breed is the first in the Alien Breed series of science fiction shooter computer games played with a top-down view, for one or two players. The game was originally released in 1991 by Team 17 for the Commodore Amiga.The series is unofficially based on the Alien movies.
Alien Breed offers the opportunity for both old and new gamers to experience the original survival-horror game, featuring a choice of either old-school Amiga graphics or newly enhanced graphics. Alien Breed features Cross-Platform continuation, gamers will be able to play the game on their PS3 save game progress on their PlayStation Vita and vice versa.
The Alien Breed game features a number of new features including story mode, enhanced graphics and cross platform continuation.
All new features for Alien Breed on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita are listed below.
- Story Mode: Gamers can choose from 30 levels including three new level packs: Convergence, Valiance and Synergy.
- Enhanced visuals or play using the original 16-bit graphics.
- Team up on either PS3 or PlayStation Vita via cross-platform play.
- Cross-Platform Continuation.
- Ad-Hoc and online co-op multiplayer for PlayStation Vita
- Local and online co-op multiplayer for PlayStation 3
- Leaderboards and trophies for gamers to compete against one another.
Alien Breed will be released for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on Tuesday 12th February in the American PlayStation Network Store and will be available to purchase for $9.99, with a 20% launch discount available for PlayStation Plus members.
