No matter how old or how long you have claimed yourself to be a “gamer”, every one of us has played at least one Atari game. Most likely those were played in arcades, with the dimly lit rooms and bright lights flashing on our faces as we slipped in that last quarter to try and get the highest score and win ultimate bragging rights.
Well for those of you who spent hours on end and wish you could relive those wonderful glory days you are in luck. Atari has just announced that Warlords, a remake of the classic title for the Atari 2600, is now available on Xbox Live Arcade for 800 Microsoft points.
For those of you who either don’t remember the classic Atari game or have never even heard of it, let me give you a quick rundown of the features. Warlords is a multiplayer, arcade-action game that puts players up against three opponents, either other players or computer-controlled. In an action-packed struggle to defend the castle walls, and eradicate your lands of rivals in order to become the last warlord standing. Magic shields can be used to block fireballs shot at castle walls that can then be aimed at enemy strongholds and used as flaming projectiles. Those who fight to be the next great warlord will need fast reflexes in order to defend themselves but a quick hand is not the only way to victory. Player’s strategic skills will be challenged as well, taking command of hordes of minions that fight under your name to attack the enemy walls or take over important control points and power-ups.
Key Features of Warlords:
· Fast-paced, non-stop action! Quick reflexes will be everything when it comes to defending your castle walls and destroy your enemies.
· Protect your castle! Move your mighty shield around the entire perimeter of your castle, deflect fireballs and send them back to your opponents.
· Minions! Command your loyal troops of Snoots to capture strategic control points on the battlefield, gather power-ups, attack enemies, and build up your own defenses.
· Classic Arcade-style multiplayer! Pick your faction; engage in co-op siege mode, 2v2, or classic free-for-all battles against up to four players or computer-controlled players.
