Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have now announced the Batman Arkham Origins Collectors Edition which will be available on October 25 in the UK while the American version will be announced at some point next week. The collectors edition will be available in limited quantities on the Xbox 360 and the PS3 meaning that the Wii U owners will once again miss out on content for the upcoming game.
The collectors edition will cost a whopping £79.99 but will come with several other features such as an 80 page full colour artwork book, a hard copy of each assassin’s dossier as well as the original contract posted by Black Mask, an exclusive 3D metal case for your game, an additional skin for Batman inspired by his original appearance in his first comic back in 1939 for any nostalgia buffs, the “Deathstroke Challenge Map DLC” which will include two bonus challenge maps and two bonus skins for Deathstroke but the centrepiece of this purchase which warrants it coming in such a big box is a highly detailed statue of Batman and The Joker which stands about 30cm high. And as if that wasn’t enough, PS3 purchasers of this collectors edition will also get the epic sounding “Knightfall” pack as additional DLC! All of the awesome things mentioned in this paragraph are visible in the picture below.
Batman: Arkham Origins is a prequel to the two previous games and is set years before Gotham becomes infested by criminals and supervillans to tell the story of how Batman became the protector of Gotham by rewinding back to the beginning of his career. In this game, you must guide a young, inexperienced and unrefined Batman as he fights crime, saves lives, builds key relationships as he grows into the role of the Dark Knight. Plus, with the addition of multiplayer, you can take the fight online while playing as a member of a gang in a turf war or try to beat both sides as Batman and Robin.
The Collectors Edition can now be pre-ordered in the UK at Amazon.co.uk and all pictures used in this article can be downloaded here.
