ESL hosts Professional And Amatuer Battlefield 4 Tournaments With A €132,000 cash prize!!
Battlefield 4 comes out in 2 days at time of writing so it is entirely possible that Battlefield 4 will have been released by the time you are reading this so there is always the chance that this news is void as the game may have bombed spectacularly and become the laughing stock of the entire call of duty community. All jokes aside, I can guess with some certainty that the game will make jaw dropping sales, become one of the biggest hits of the year and make more money in a day than an average man will make in his entire life allowing battlefield fans to actually be justified in acting superior to call of duty fans, if only temporarily.
Anyway, lets set the witty commentary aside for a moment and focus on the news at hand. The Electronic Sports League (ESL) has announced that they will be adding Battlefield 4 to their European Competition line-up. There will be both amateur and professional tournaments in which players compete for glory and bragging rights. Oh, and a €132,000 cash prize but no-one cares about that!
The game will be played in 4 leagues:
EMS One: This is the big one, where the best of the best in professional Battlefield playing will be duking it out! It will consist of 4 seasons with a total prize pool of €120,000.
Go4 Battlefield 4: This one will be a proving ground for professionals and serious players alike. Players will compete for cash prizes on weekends with the first one starting November 10th
A-Series: The A-series is where players from all across europe will compete to take part in the biggest event, The EMS One.
Verses: And lastly we have the league for those looking to start playing battlefield 4 professionally. Careful monitoring and anti-cheat measures are in place to provide a fair battlefield for those looking to form their own teams.
