A Return to Where it All Began Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea
As some of you might have guessed, the sub-heading for this article refers to more than just a return to Rapture. Yes, this is going to be a prequel DLC that takes place prior to the original Bioshock. Specifically, we are going to see the city prior to the cataclysm that resulted in the orginal Bioshock. Irrational Games has confirmed that we will see some “Old Friends”. Andrew Ryan is the most clear candidate, but others such as Frank Fontaine might be present as well.
I am curious to see if anyone from Bioshock Infinite turns up. I think the Lutece twins would be the most obvious choice, but I am interested to see others as well. According to Ken Levine, creative director at Irrational Games, this DLC will not simply port the old Rapture, it will come stock with a new one.
The gameplay in this new DLC will also feature some old favorites. The weapon wheel is making a comeback as well as one of the weapons from the original Bioshock. There are also some new items of gear and more plasmids. This DLC will be more stealth intensive compared to previous entries in the series. The Tears are also making a return. At this point, it is hard to tell whether or not that is a good thing.
This new DLC will be available on November 12th and will cost $14.99. Alternatively, you can buy the Season Pass and get both episodes of the Burial at Sea series as well as some of the previous DLC. The 2nd episode of this DLC series, which is still in development, will allow players to play through Elizabeth’s perspective. Honestly, I would just go ahead and get the Season Pass. If you buy Episode 1, then you are almost definitely going to buy episode 2 and buying the pass is cheaper. Either way, if you own Bioshock Infinite, this is a must have.
