One of the latest Wii U games to be released is New Super Mario Bros. U, which has much of the same structure that you’ll find in previous Super Mario games. Just like in the New Super Mario Bros. 2, there is a big bad boss to defeat at the end of each world. There is no avoiding these villains; they have to be defeated if you want to progress to the next world and eventually rescue Princess Peach.
There are a few key things you need to know about beating the boss at the end of each world in the New Super Mario Bros. U adventure. Anyone who has played Super Mario games before will know that:
- The boss battle usually takes place after an intense castle stage
- Like in puzzle games, you will need to have a particular strategy in order to succeed and beat a boss – never go in unprepared!
- Defeating a boss usually requires three jumps on the head.
Now, here’s what you need to know to defeat the first 4 bosses in the New Super Mario Bros. U. After that – you’re on your own!
World 1 – Lemmy Koopa
All you need to do to succeed against Lemmy Koopa is to avoid his bomb attacks, which are quite slow and easy to predict. Give yourself some running distance before jumping on his head, or you can try waiting until Lemmy is near the wall and then using a wall jump.
World 2 – Morton Koopa
Morton Koopa has a hammer, with which he fires projectiles and cactus-like Pokeys (last seen in the New Super Mario Bros.2) that Mario will need to carefully avoid. The key to defeating Morton is to be patient and wait until he’s out of Pokeys – then you can attack!
World 3 – Larry Koopa
The youngest of the Koopalings is also one of the easiest to defeat. It’s as simple as avoiding Larry’s projectiles and keeping an eye on the water sprouts, which shift position and can give you the best position to strike.
World 4 – Wendy Koopa
The boss of the Frosted Glacier world and the only female Koopaling can be defeated only by mastering moving on ice. You also need to predict when she is about to attack with falling icicles; stomping at exactly the right moment could win you the level.
