Yesterday it was announced that Camilla Luddington has been chosen to be the voice and performance actress of the world-famous female video game adventurer, Miss Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider game.
Camillia was discovered through an international talent search using scouts in Europe and the US. The publisher of SQUARE ENIX has said she stood out as delivering both a depth of emotion and the youthful tone needed for Lara Croft in the upcoming re-imagining of the Tomb Raider franchise.
The English-born actress can be seen in the current season of the hit TV series True blood
and back in 2010 she made an appearance in CSI:Crime Scene Investigation (TV series).
Darrell Gallagher, head of studio at Crystal Dynamics had this to say
“This has been one of the most important jobs for us to get right,” he then added “This Tomb Raider game is very different to any other and we are demanding far more from the voice and performance acting than ever before as we take the franchise in a new direction.”
For anyone who is attending the Nerd HQ and Comic-Con next month (July 2012) in San Diego, Camillia will be at the panels to join the development team as they talk about Tomb Raider and the story behind its creation.
