There are awards for a myriad number of categories, including best independent game, best community relations and greatest innovation.

Gameplay

As an application for the iPhone and iPad, Celtic Heroes’ nomination is part of the award’s increased focus on the titles released on mobile devices. Set in a 3D Celtic world, players can choose from 5 unique classes that will rank up and learn new abilities as they explore dungeons and castles. Players can also undergo hundreds of quests with a clan and unlock an extensive array of armour, clothes, jewellery and weapons to customise their chosen character.

Alex Wozniak, community manager for One Thumb Mobile stated that the company has “worked hard to show that [MMOs] on mobile devices can be in-depth [and] challenging.”  To have Celtic Heroes nominated for the MMO game of the Year Awards is “intensely gratifying” for him and the company, and he thanks the players and jurors who were part of the nomination process.
