DK and Other Top Teams will compete November 22-24, 2013
The lineup for MLG‘s first International Dota 2 competition is looking better than ever. Chinese team DK (which stands for Dota Kings) will appear alongside other confirmed teams Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid, The Alliance, Na’Vi, and Fnatic. The action will occur in a round-robin style tournament November 22-24 in Columbus, OH. The Greater Columbus Convention Center will host the event.
Fans can catch the action either in person or through online streaming. General Admission to the tournament is $35 in advance or $50 at the door for the whole weekend. Truly adamant fans can opt for the VIP Pass to Dota 2 for $250. This pass includes admission, priority check-in, reserved seating in the front few rows, early admission to the show, a tour of the venue on Friday, admission to an open reception with players, and an MLG hoodie. Both options can be purchased from the MLG store today.
Those unable to attend can still watch the tournament online at MLG’s website. The broadcast schedule has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for that as well as details about the Dota 2 In-Game Ticket.
At least two slots are yet to be filled for this exciting event. The MLG Fall Invitational, which will be held Friday October 18th) will determine which team will fill one of these slots. The invitational can also be watched through MLG’s website, so check it out to see who else will compete at the MLG Championship.
The final slot, though, is from the Open Online Qualifier. This means that anyone who has a team can register now to compete in this qualifier, which will occur from September 28th through October 16th. The eight top teams from this qualifier will participate in an invitational qualifier with the teams finished 2nd-8th in the Fall MLG North American Dota 2 League from October 21st through November 6th to determine who will fill the final slot at the championship. So if you have a team, hurry up and get signed up for a chance at the MLG Championship!
