Future heroes who plan on confronting the ominous Lord of Terror and changing the world will be able to purchase the game at retailers for 59.99€, and the PS3 version is also available digitally on the Playstation 3 and on Xbox Live October 4th. Both versions of the games have been localized in numerous languages.
The Console versions of the game have been tailored for gamepad style gameplay and features a new dynamic camera perspective that will put the hero front and center as well as a new interface and control system that makes the game feel a lot smoother. Gamers will be able to challenge hordes of monsters from the pits of hell alone or with a party of four players using same-screen or online functionality. The game will support parties of both local and online players.
CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment was excited to share the following:
In bringing Diablo III to consoles, our main focus has been on making sure we deliver a really fun experience for up to four friends online or on the same couch. The game looks and plays great on PS3 and Xbox 360, especially with the new direct-control elements and new interface. We know players will have a blast battling Diablo on their big-screen TVs.
Players will take on the role of five different characters-Barbarian, Witch Doctor, Wizard, Monk, or the powerful Demon Hunter. The player will embark on a journey to save the world of Sanctuary from the grips of Hell and their terrible demon hordes. From the town of Tristam to the Diamond Gates of the High Heavens, engaging in intense combat and enjoy the experience of looting.
The game was released on PC and Mac on May 15th, 2012 becoming the fastest selling PC game in twenty four hours. As of December, 2012 the game has sold 12 million copies worldwide.
