First Ever Multi-Country Videogame Collaboration for the Red Cross
Electronic Arts Inc. and The British Red Cross, have announced a collaboration on SimCity™ downloadable content that grants players access to provide their Sim-Citizens with Red Cross Relief, whilst raising money for a great cause.
This content will be downloadable for PC and Mac users for the price of £7.99 and EA will give at least 80% of these earnings to the Red Cross after recouping development costs. A minimum of $100,000 will be given to support the participating Red Cross National Societies and their humanitarian services.
When disaster such as a devastating meteor disastrous earthquake strike a SimCity™, players can rely on Red Cross staff to set up emergency Relief Centres at nearby locations. Players will also gain two vehicles for Red Cross Staff to travel around their cities in.
Mark Astarita, Director of Fundraising at the British Red Cross Mark Astarita glowingly endorsed the union this week, by praising EA for offering them access to a new audience who might not be aware of The Red Cross and their cause.
“This will bring the Red Cross to life for gamers in an exciting and interactive way while raising vital funds to support our work helping people in crisis in the UK and overseas.”
