Beginning on September 27th and running until October 28th London will play host to a months’ worth of gaming events. Set to be a huge draw for professionals and budding developers alike, Ukie announced that it has added eight new events taking place during its London Games Festival.

The organiser hopes that the events will give aspiring developers the chance to gain insight into the inner workings of the industry, as well as grant the opportunity to go hands on with the game making process and perhaps inspire some new talent.

“There’s a real sense of interaction with this year’s festival,” adds Kirsty Payne. “Many of the events this year will offer attendees the opportunity to roll get their hands dirty and find out what’s it’s like to make games. Who knows – maybe this year’s London Games Festival will ignite a spark which will discover the next Peter Molyneux.”

*Writers Opinion*

With events ranging from investment to apps I think The London Games Festival presents a fantastic opportunity for both professionals and the public to expand their knowledge on a wide variety of aspects within the industry. The most interesting of the newly announced events, in my opinion, is the XX Game Jam which has the potential to effectively evolve and transform the gaming industry by encouraging females to embrace coding and take up careers within the technology sector.
