Europa Universalis IV is a strategy that is massive in scope allowing you to to help the country of your choice gain power and eventually build an empire that will span the entire map. Despite how simple it sounds, it will not be an easy fight. Enemy AI is ruthless and will attack you in a variety of ways from openly attacking your country, assaulting trade routes, secretly scouting your country to the point that they know it better than you do or feigning innocence and co-oporation before stabbing you in the back and leaving your empire in ruins in one fell swoop.
To counter their ruthless tactics, you must be equally ruthless yourself. whether their attacks be literal, political or anything in-between, you must defend your nation on all fronts with a variety of new features. With the new diplomatic system, you can use coalitions and royal marriages to your advantage as well or even show support for rebels in another country causing it to tear itself apart in civil war before you swoop in to deliver the final blow with your military. Another new feature is that certain choices you make will be affected by the quality and calibur of the man that you choose to rule the country so you must choose wisely. The trade system is a new feature that has been added in this instalment and I shouldn’t have to say that it is much easier to take over the world if the other countries of the world are actively paying you a lot of money.
