Reverb Publishing and Exato Game Studios today unveiled a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming game Guncraft.
Guncraft is a FPS that utilises a voxel style heavily reminiscent of Minecraft. The title is intended to combine the concept of building with a fast paced FPS, with players able to quickly swap between building cover for themselves and gunning down enemies The game also has inbuilt crafting mechanics, allowing players to whip up a variety of new vehicles in the heat of combat before turning their new found firepower on opposing players.
As they combat up to 15 other players, gamers will also be treated to 100% destructible environments, with every block in the Minecraft like world able to be blown up by vehicle fire, explosives, rifle fire or even pistol shots.
In addition to the stock standard Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch modes, Guncraft will also feature original multiplayer game variants. In Lava Survival, players must race to the high ground, contact with the lava killing them for the rest of the round. Siege mode pits two teams against each other in a race to finish a large trebuchet. Guncraft will also feature Onslaught, a unique take on the Horde Mode of other games. Teams of up to four players will be given five minutes to construct a fortress, after which they’ll be inundated with waves of enemies.
Guncraft is also intended to feature extensive player customisation. Gamers will be able to craft their own levels in the in game map editor and then destroy them with others in the online multiplayer. In addition, Guncraft features a varied class system, with players able to mix and match perks and weapons to create the soldier of their choice. The sky is the limit, with the developers seeing nothing wrong with players creating wacky combinations such as Ninja Miners.
