Good news fans of Far Cry 3 who also happens to own a PS3 because Ubisoft has announced that just like the recent Assassins Creed 3 DLC; it will be exclusive to the PS3 and will be available in January. The DLC called High Tides will feature two new co-op chapters which are called Jailbreak and Redemption and they will start where to co-op chapter finish. The DLC will be the only DLC to lengthen the co-op campaign so don’t expect them all to make it. The DLC itself hasn’t been priced yet but with only with co-op missions in it so far chances are it won’t be that expensive. There may whoever eventually be a PC release for High Tide although there has been no news on it going to Xbox 360 but don’t hold your breath, this is Ubisoft where talking about.
Capcom has revealed that Resident Evil 6 will be getting three DLC packs which are called Predator, Survivors and Onslaught that the Xbox players will be getting them first but let’s start with Predator. The Predator DLC will be a co-op mode that allows up to six players where one player will control the Ustanak, the Nemesis replacement that spent most of the game chasing Jake Muller. The other players will have to kill him within the time limit or at the very least survive. Ustanak himself can grab and throw the other players at each other, tackle or just attack with your claws and arm cannon. The only map shown so far is pretty small which I guess makes sense because Ustanak is pretty slow. All three DLC’s will be released on the Xbox 360 first for either 320 Microsoft points each or 720 Microsoft points for all three in a bundle pack. They will be released on the 17th of December and here’s the trailer.
Second there’s the Survivors DLC which again can support up to six players. Survivors is where players take each other on in each a team or solo mode. The interesting twist about Survivors however is that when you die you’re not out of the game because when you die you return as one of the zombies and if you kill one of the other players then you’ll become human again. It’s not been said what will happen to players if they die as a zombie but it’ll be either where you become one again or you wait till the round ends. Finally Onslaught mode will simply be where two players try to survive for as long as possible against waves of enemies like Nazi Zombies in the Black Ops games or a bit like the Mercenaries mode in previous Resident Evil games.
Honestly out of all the DLC featured here the only DLC that sounds anyway interesting in my opinion is the Far Cry 3 DLC and this is coming from someone who doesn’t play co-op games or own a PS3. The Resident Evil DLC feels a little weak with the Predator DLC sounding kind of gimmicky and the other two modes sound fine although unless there are some customizing options available it won’t take long before you’ll get bored with them.
