Field of Glory Update Fixes Multiplayer Issues

Did you know that Dungeons and Dragons was a spin-off game to miniature war games? Miniature war games rely on miniatures and terrain, similar to Dungeons and Dragons, except it focused on replicating combat in war through die rolls and measuring tape. Most miniature war games could be played with tokens like checker chips, but most gamers prefer plastic miniatures that are hand-painted to represent their army. It’s an interesting hobby where gamers could connect their color and painting skills with their desire to meet and dominate other players at hobby game stores. Some miniature war games, like RPGs, have made a move to video games, such as Slitherine’s Field of Glory miniature war game.

Field of Glory is a tabletop miniature war game that is available as a retail or digital copy for your PC or Macintosh. In the game you can relive famous war battles in history, without managing the rules that come from the original version. In the digital copy of Field of Glory you can relive experiences like the Rise of Rome from Zama in North Africa, to the battles of Boudicca’s revolt in Britain. There are tons of downloadable content for the game available at Slitherine’s site, so there are even more historical battles you could simulate. Recently there was some problems with the digital version of Field of Glory not recognizing some purchased maps in specific downloadable content for the game. However Slitherine (developers of Field of Glory) and Matrix Games were able to eliminate these problems with the 1.8.1 update.

The update for Field of Glory will fix bugs with the updater and multiplayer games that Macintosh players were experiencing. Anyone that has purchased the Decline and Fall DLC maps for Field of Glory can now access those maps in this update. The update will also address issues with time periods in the game, such as Kushan, Sassanid Persian, Late Republican Roman, Pyrrhic, Later Seleucid, and Later Crusader.
