With all of the fuss Square Enix are making with Final Fantasy Lightning Returns and the still fixing of Final Fantasy 14 it’s hard to believe that they’ve had time to add new content to Final Fantasy 11. The new content has been named “Seekers of Adoulin” and is available on Xbox 360 and Windows PC but only if you have the previous four expansions.

Seekers of Adoulin adds the brand new continent of Ulbuka as well as the Sacred City of Adoulin to the world of Vana’diel for players to explore. The continent is also sprawling with new creatures for players to tackle like the standard giant crabs which are called “Craklaw” as well as ghastly “Umbril” who are known as the “Jungle’s Curse”.

Why do so many J and ordinary RPG's have giant crabs as enemies?

However with new enemies also comes with two brand new classes as well in the Geomancer and the Rune Fencers. The Geomancer class has the powers of Vana’diel on their side and they can use them equally for attacking enemies as well as defending their allies.

The Rune Fencers on the other hand are sort of a mixed class with the ability to fight with both a sword as well as cast runes to decrease damage from magic classes and they also have divine and enhancing spells as well so while it probably won’t be the easiest class in game, it does appear that players will have a plenty of attack options.

The armour and weapons for the new classes has been drawn by acclaimed manga artist Mr Kazushi Hagiwara.

It just wouldn’t be a Japanese MMO without letting the player play as a little girl

Along with the new continent, enemies and jobs “Seekers of Adoulin” also has some new gameplay features like the introduction of the “power spots” which add buffs to anyone who finds them like the spots of power in the Witcher 2, new contracts and player built outposts.

The latest update for Final Fantasy 11 “Seekers of Adoulin” is now available for Xbox 360 and Windows PC for $29.99.
