Sony have announced that four PSN titles will be available on the PS4 at launch
The Playstation Network is increasingly becoming a huge part of Sony’s plans for the new Playstation 4, and that’s been reaffirmed by the news that certain PS4 PSN games will be offered at the European launch date, 29th November, with free upgrades for those who have already purchased the Playstation 3 or PS Vita versions of the games.
The games included in this are Flow, in which players control aquatic microorganisms who that can evolve by consuming other life forms and Flower its successor, as well as Sound Shapes, a musical platform game. The other game included is Escape Plan, the popular puzzle game that originally launched on the PS Vita last year. Flower and Sound Shapes will both be available at the North American PS4 launch date, 15th November, whilst Flow and Escape Plan will be released alongside the European PS4 on 29th November.
These titles are now classed as Cross-Buy titles, which basically means that purchasing it for one console means that you can access it and use it on your PS3, PS4 and PS Vita, without having to repurchase for each individual console. So that means that players who buy the game when they receive the PS4 will then receive PS3 and Vita access, but also that players who have bought the games for PS3/Vita in the past will get free access as soon as the PS4 PSN version is released to the world.
Here is the trailer that Sony released to mark this announcement, featuring all four titles.
The games will all feature significant improvements for the PS4, with Flower featuring 1080p visuals and 60 frames per second. Escape Plan will feature big changes to the controls, given the dual touch screens of the PS Vita, to make it workable with the PS4 DualShock controller.
