Gamebase USA is now an authorized middleware developer. With this partnership, the Gamebryo engine will now be used as support for Wii U development. Their role will essentially be to simplify the game development process. “We are determined to stay on the cutting edge of all new hardware as it becomes available,” said Gabriel Liberty, Technical Director of Gamebase USA. “The Wii U is powerful enough to take advantage of all of Gamebryo’s features including our advanced lighting techniques and multicore technology.”
Gamebase’s Gamebryo system gives developers access to a complete toolset, prototyping capabilities, and a host of other features. It has been used for both of the Epic Mickey titles, Epic Mickey, Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two and Bully: Scholarship Edition. “We are excited to be a middleware developer for such an innovative system as the Wii U console,” said David Brame, CEO of Gamebase USA. “The Gamebryo engine has been utilized by a long legacy of Wii games and we look forward to our future with Wii U.”
