Ubisoft is bringing “Gangnam Style” to Just Dance 4 as downloadable content. After the South Korean Rapper, PSY, made his way into the hearts and minds of millions around the world with his catchy “Gangnam Style” song, it was inevitable that someone would put it in a video game.
I guess it doesn’t exactly work for a lot of other party games. I mean, I know the English words in that song, but I’m completely lost when it comes to the rest of it, so karaoke isn’t an option. And most songs nowadays don’t have great guitar licks that can be adapted to Guitar Hero, so Just Dance 4 seems like the best choice. Publishers aren’t the bravest of people when it comes to creating new content, but when they see millions of hits on a YouTube song they think it’s a “risk” that they are willing to take. That’s why it is our job to make things so popular that they can’t ignore them. I want to see this song on some karaoke game somewhere. I don’t care how you do it, just do it.
Ubisoft and PSY had some things to add to the Gangnam Style announcement for Just Dance 4. “We’re dedicated to bringing Just Dance fans access to the music and musicians they love,” said Geoffroy Sardin, Chief Marketing & Sales Officer, Ubisoft EMEA. “Our fans were really vocal about wanting Gangnam Style in Just Dance 4 and we listened. This marks the first of many hot upcoming DLC tracks for Just Dance 4.” “Gangnam Style and Just Dance 4, I can’t wait to see all the YouTube videos”, said South Korean artist, PSY. Same here PSY. The “Gangnam Style” DLC will be available for Just Dance 4 in November, and pricing will be similar to other Just Dance DLC.
