Halo 4 – Biggest Entertainment Launch Of The Year

One of the greatest video game franchises of all time made its mark yet again last week, when 343 Industries released Halo 4 worldwide.

The launch has been classified as one of the largest entertainment releases of 2012. Within 24 hours, Halo 4 raked in $220 million worldwide. This beat out the biggest movies of the year.

Halo is one of the most popular video game franchises to be ever created and the gamers showed their support. Players crushed the record for the most players in a Halo game. Several million players and hours were spent battling the Covenant and Prometheans.

The game has already gained acclaim from the entire world, being ranked one of the top games of 2012, possibly of all time. Thousands of stores in countries worldwide participated in the launch of Halo 4 on November 6.

“We’re thrilled that ‘Halo 4’ has emerged as the biggest U.S. entertainment launch of the year,” said Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios. The release of this game is hoping to draw buyers in for the holiday season.

Fans may have been worried about the direction the game was headed because of Microsoft owned developer 343 Industries taking the reigns from Bungie. The first day sales answered that question, as fans participated in a magnificent moment in gaming history.

As the Halo story digs deeper into uncharted areas and more secrets are revealed, fans should be excited for what lies ahead in the Halo universe. If first week sales are any indication to what the fans want is indeed more Halo.

With a compelling campaign and fantastic online multiplayer, plus a separate Spartan Ops mode, Halo 4 stands as a pinnacle of gaming history and will be a sought after game as long as they are still being developed.
