During the weekend at the recent PAX East 343 Industries held a panel named “Halo 4’ Multiplayer: Past, Present and Future” where they revealed details for their plans for the future of Halo 4’s multiplayer with new DLC maps, the return of Forge from Halo Reach as well as the latest updates.
First let’s start with the announcement of Forge Island for Halo 4. It will be available for free on Xbox Live April 11th. Forge Island will give players three separate Islands for use to create whatever they want within budget of course. The pieces available will be a mix of newer ones as well as some from previous games.
Along with Forge Island they also revealed details about the new DLC map pack. The new pack is called Castle and it will cost 800 Microsoft Points and is available April 8th. The pack is vehicular based and there are three maps in total. The three maps have been named Outcast, Daybreak and Perdition.
Outcast takes place on a mining planet and is the largest of the three new maps. The map will have at least two caves .
The final map called Perdition which takes place in an under city with a reactor that’s going critical. Perdition will support all of Halo 4’s game modes. The map itself includes Warthogs and the Castle map pack will also add multi-team playlists.
Halo 4 will be getting its third title update in the next three weeks.
The new update will bring back the X-Markers to the HUD. The active camo has also been balanced by making it take longer to return to camo after firing weapons. The Gauss Warthog has also been slightly nerfed to make it more balanced as well as the Scorpion Tank and finally there have been some tweaks to the weapons.
So that’s the DLC information and title updates coming to Halo 4 and if you’re interested in more information or just want to want to watch the PAX East Panel then the full video is available on Halo Waypoint
