Indie Hero Ltd. has released its new title BeatBoxer +, a fitness game for mobile and gesture based gaming devices that takes advantage of a new webcam gesture technology from Extreme Reality and fitness hardware from Shadow Boxer International Pty Ltd.
BeatBoxer + is a rhythm-based fitness game that tries to combine boxing and aerobic exercise with high energy music, the game allows you to set your own personal fitness targets and “enjoy simple addictive rhythm based gaming at its best”
BeatBoxer relies on new webcam motion technology that tracks body movement and it’s compatible with ShadowBoxer resistance hardware, the game is now available for purchase on www.beatboxergame.com for Windows PC camera based platforms.
Indie Hero Ltd. is a recently established studio comprised of a healthy mix of ex Sony developers and young talent, the company is based in the North-East of England and focuses on developing fitness, music and casual games. The company’s seasoned developers have worked on a wide variety of games including Wip3out, Midnight Club, GTA, Worms and Alien Breed, the studio aims to promote fitness and gaming entertainment across all possible media platforms and help reignite the genre.
The company has also approached different music artists such as DUB FX to help contribute content and establish a healthy liaison with the music industry.

“What we’ve done is essentially layer traditional game modes like high scores with the fitness statistics. We’ve layered in calorie burn rate over days, weeks, months, etc. We haven’t pointed out to the user which ones are fitness-related and which are game-related. So they’re essentially working out without realizing they’re working out. We have tried to take the boxing genre in a different and unique direction with
BeatBoxer+ putting focus on simple additive arcade style fun! The music
appeal of big name artists such as DUB FX, combined with cutting edge console ready visuals should create a lot of appeal amongst consumers.”
