Lara Croft And The Guardian Of Light Goes Free To Play

Square Enix have today announced that Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light is now live on the company’s Core Online platform.Core Online is a new service which allows gamers to play high definition games in their browsers for free.  Users will have to watch a number of mandatory adverts to use the service.

 

There are a number of titles currently available on Core Online. These include Hitman: Blood Money and Mini Ninjas. Square Enix also have plans to develop and release Tomb Raider and Gyromancer on their free to play service.  A number of  other titles are expected to be made available soon.

Core Online is Square Enix online free gaming platform. The service uses supports both Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. Core Online is available to use for both PC and Mac users. Gamers who prefer to skip the mandatory adverts for the free service can pay a fee of $9.99.  Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is made available to gamers via a combination of Google and Square Enix’s technology. The service also supports Google’s Native Client on Chrome for Mac users.

David Guldbrandsen, General Manager of Hapti.co, Square Enix’s new studio spoke about the announcement commenting:

Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light tells the story of Lara Croft and Totec, a 2000 year old Mayan Warrior. Players will work alongside Totec to defeat the evil spirit of Xolotl and retrieve the ancient Mirror of Smoke. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is a departure from the usual style of Tomb Raider games. The game is a fixed-camera 3D platforming puzzle video game.
