It’s been a long time coming but Lego are finally making a Marvel game which apparently has been a game people have been waiting years for.
The game which is going to be creatively called Lego Marvel Super Heroes has a plot which will involve Nick Fury calling upon his fellow Marvel Heroes, bringing them together to fight against multiple threats, such as: Loki’s vengeance and Galactus, once again trying to devour the Earth because if at first you don’t succeed right?
Lego Marvel Super Heroes will contain the Lego series usual sense of humour but will also be a classic Lego adventure game so my guess is not to expect too many changes to gameplay although it’s early yet so who knows. It’s also unknown yet if Lego Marvel Super Heroes characters will have voices like in last year’s Lego Batman 2, but apparently this game will have over a hundred characters so it may be a case where it will only be for the characters in the story if there are any voices at all.
Now while Lego DC 2 levels took the players to Gotham City and for a little while Metropolis, Lego Marvel on the other hand will along with going to landmarks around Lego New York also take the player to other iconic places in the Marvel universe, although where, hasn’t yet been revealed.
As mentioned above Lego Marvel Super Heroes will have over a hundred playable characters in it although chances are that some of them will be the same character in a different outfit, this is a Lego game after all. Characters revealed so far include the usual Marvel Heroes: Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Wolverine, Thor and the Hulk. But as you might expect from having apparently over a hundred characters it will also include others like Deadpool and some group called the Guardians of the Galaxy among many others yet to be announced. I can’t be the only one hoping for a Lego version of the Punisher right? It really does look like they’re trying to jam as many Marvel characters in this as possible, which means that it’s going to be a pain for them to balance them all and make all of them useful.
Lego Marvel Super Heroes has been given a release date of Fall 2013 and it will be released on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC as well as the Ps Vita, Nintendo DS and 3DS.
