March 5th will see the release of Mass Effect 3 ’s final ever single-player DLC which has been named Citadel. Which will see the end of the Shepard trilogy and will cost $15 although compared to the “Omega” content this DLC looks like it will live up to its price. Players will get to meet older characters like Urdnot Wrex and will get one last the chance to rekindle romances with them.
Thankfully though the new content won’t end after you finish the new story content because afterwards players will be able to go gambling in the Citadels never before shown Silver Coast Casino, “blow off steam” as Bioware put it at the Armax Combat Arena or in the oddest new addition you can custom Shepherds very own apartment. I wonder if you’re allowed to ask your romantic interest to move in with you.
On Bioware’s website they said
When a sinister conspiracy targets Commander Shepard, you and your team must uncover the truth, through battles and intrigue that range from the glamour of the Citadel’s Wards to the top-secret Council Archives. Uncover the truth and fight alongside your squad – as well as the cast from the original Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2.”
Along with the single-player content Bioware are also releasing a free new multiplayer pack that is called “Reckoning” which will be released on all consoles on February 26th although it will be released on the PS3 in February 27th.
Reckoning will come with at least four new character class types to play who are the Geth Juggernaut, Cabal Vanguard, Talon Mercenary and an Alliance Infiltration Unit among others. Along with the new characters players will get to try out 7 brand new weapons like the Venom Shotgun and Krogan Warlord can get a Biotic Hammer to go nuts with. I have a feeling that that’s going to be a popular choice online.
On Monday at 9:30 am PST Bioware will be doing a live stream of the new Reckoning Content on Twitch TV with the members of the Mass Effect dev team where they plan to answer people’s questions on the content although why there doing this the day before its release I don’t know but maybe they’ll answer some questions on the Citadel DLC as well.
So it appears that Bioware has kept the best DLC for last because Citadel appears to be the most packed DLC to be released for Mass Effect 3 and the free multiplayer DLC is pretty generous too so don’t forget on Monday to watch Bioware show off the new content and hopefully answer some questions.
