Infinite Game Publishing and Piranha Games have launched the Camo Spec Patch for Mech Warrior Online. MechWarrior Online is a free to play, action simulation game for PC. The Camo Spec Patch will give players the ability to customise their Mech with various paint, patterns and cockpit items. This allows players to define their team and set a style before they battle to victory in the InnerSphere.
The MechWarrior Online patch also heralds the return of ‘Bitching Betty’, the original female voiceover from previous MechWarrior games. For the founders of MechWarrior Online an activation button has been added granting players the option to choose when their premium time begins.
Bryan Ekman of Piranha Games spoke about the patch stating:
“Camo Spec brings to life a very important part of the BattleTech universe.” … “With this new addition I’m excited to see a real evolution towards defining your own MechWarrior persona and bringing to life the richness of the past, present and future MechWarrior Online heroes.”
The first phase of the paint and pattern content will allow players to stand out with distinctive options available in the Mech Lab. The new “Dazzle” pattern scheme can be applied to any Mech, there are also more patterns in the pipeline, including the “Urban Block” and “Woodland” designs which will be live in the next few weeks. The Phraken pattern is now available for the recently released Cataphract Mech. The design possibilities for MechWarrior members across the InnerSphere will provide endless customisation options.
The Camo Spec content update for MechWarrior Online will also allow players to decorate their home away from home with fun, custom items for their cockpit . These options include the beloved Hula Girl, colorful faction banners and other fun items. Each cockpit can host up to three pieces of décor which can be either earned or purchased, depending on the item.
MechWarrior Online has also introduced a new environment setting. The Frozen City at Night, is now live. In the new area players can defeat opponents as they dodge through the huge shadows. Frozen City at Night will require new strategies and tactics for lances in order to maintain a stronghold in the area.
