Merc Elite, the very frist military-themed multiplayer online battle arena game, is now in closed beta.
Developed by gaming company Bigpoint, Merc Elite is a team-based, player-verses-player strategic shooter. It puts the gamer in the future where they can choose from five unique character classes: Recon, Tactician, Assault, Heavy Gunner and the Juggernaut.
Each class comes with a wide array of skills that players must use to eliminate the enemy team and claim victory. The game allows players to get behind cover to defend themselves. It is the world’s first ever military style MOBA game. Merc Elite is aimed at MOBA players looking for a new challenge in an entirely unique game setting, and shooter fans looking for innovative new gameplay. Merc Elite is free-to-play and emphasizes fair, skill-based arena combat and is built on Unity Web Player technology, which requires no client installation or download.
The story revolves around five corporations fighting for power to rule the near collapsed society. Each one has their very own team of special military units from different backgrounds. They all contain the fire power to bring down the enemy factions but it is up to you to decide who comes out on top.
Bigpoint has put out a video on their YouTube channel that highlights the games mechanics and gameplay.
Bigpoint is set to release the full copy of Merc EIite this summer.
