The critically acclaimed Metal Gear franchise has had its new addition on consoles for around four months now, and PC gamers have had to sit back and fume over this injustice. Not anymore. The PC digital download of Konami Digital Entertainment’s Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is set to be released quite soon. However, as of now, no exact release date has been set.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance centers around Raiden, a former child soldier that has been transformed into a cyborg that is driven by revenge. Equipped with his katana blade, Raiden attempts to resolve his past by slicing all of the obstacles in his path.
On console, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance introduced their “katana-based combat” that also includes their ZanDatsu Cut Mechanic. This is a “technique” used by Raiden that allows him to strike an enemy’s weak point, and grab their power cores that restores his health and fuel cells.
The features that will accompany Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance onto PC are much the same as that of the console. However, as PC gaming is much more advanced, a few things have been added.
On PC, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will “push the boundaries” of style, graphics and speed with a framerate of 60fps on newer PC’s. Konami also says that bringing Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance to PC will offer “a new experience” for their gamers.
Author’s Opinion:
The Metal Gear franchise is one that I have only recently become acquainted with, however from what I have played, I have enjoyed immensely. Being that this will be the second Metal Gear game to be on PC, I am quite excited for the digital download as I am sure that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be a great addition to the multitude of great games already available for PC gamers. The Metal Gear Rising Revengeance PC port will allow a whole new demographic of gamers to be opened up to the Metal Gear franchise.
