MMORPG’s expansion adds new Hunter Ranger Class
Creators of the Neverwinter MMO, Perfect World Entertainment Inc. and Cryptic Studios 
have announced a new expansion module for the popular free-to-play title.
The new module, Shadowmantle, will add the Dread Ring campaign, where players find the Dread Ring deep within Neverwinter Wood. The ring is a huge structure used to amplify ritual magic, which players need to explore, battling the Shadowmantle army along the way, before a battle with Valindra, a lich, topping off the epic campaign. As well as this new region and campaign, the module adds new artefacts, a new paragon path and, most importantly, a brand new class, the Hunter Ranger.
Cryptic Studios Executive Producer and COO, Craig Zinkievich, had the following to say about the addition of the Hunter Ranger class:
“We’re so excited to reveal Shadowmantle. There has been great speculation about what our next class would be and we’re thrilled to reveal the Hunter Ranger. Delivering new classes is something the team is committed to and this is just the first of many free classes to come in Neverwinter.”
Neverwinter is an MMORPG set in the Dungeons and Dragons Universe, featuring immersive combat and deep, detailed dungeons, as expected from any decent MMORPG. The game allows players to explore the sprawling city of Neverwinter and its environments, as well as giving players the chance to immerse themselves in the mythology and history of the iconic location.
One of the most original and exciting features of Neverwinter is The Foundry, a tool which allows players to create their own quests and adventures from the same creation package that the designers themselves used to do so.
The developers have already promised continued development of content and additions to the original game, and for a free-to-play game, it’s difficult to complain with the amount of free content being dolled up.
The last expansion, Fury of the Feywild, launched several months ago.
Neverwinter is available right now, and Neverwinter Shadowmantle expansion will surface by the end of the year, completely free.
