Developer Deep Silver releases new Iron Front D-Day DLC | Community Mission Maker Contest launched
December 4th 2012 – Hampshire, UK – A new expansion featuring the American Allied Forces are ready to march in Iron Front D-Day. Deep Silver today presented the American units from the upcoming DLC for Iron Front Liberation 1944 featuring new weapons, armour, and military equipment.
New weapon additions in the DLC include bazookas and Thompson submachine guns. Players can also steer Sherman tanks, or assault from the skies above in a P-47 Thunderbolt.
The big new addition in the D-Day DLC is the famous Higgins landing craft that the Allied Forces used to land at Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. Due to these units, capturing the mainland on the coast becomes a tactical highlight.
The Iron Front Liberation 1944 DLC will be available exclusively for PC from December 14, 2012, at a price of £8. The DLC will be a download only option and will require the main game to run it.
Deep Silver along with developer X1 Software/AWAR is also announcing today a fresh contest for participants to have a chance to win the D-Day expansion for Iron Front Liberation 1944. To enter the competition, players must create and submit a fresh mission from scratch. The only rule is that you are not allowed to use existing missions and submit them as your own.
The winning missions will be made available for all players to download together with the next patch release. Also the creators of the winning missions will be mentioned in the credits.
Want to have a go? The contest starts right now! It closes on December 14, 2012.
