The Lordz Games, developers of the award winning Panzer Corps, are delighted to announce a new update to their game; Panzer Corps Grand Campaign ’44 West. The DLC chronicles the return of the Allies to Europe and the opening of the second front against Germany from a unique German perspective.
Hailed as a spiritual successor to the Panzer General series, the original Panzer Corps is a critically acclaimed turn based strategy game . The player takes the role of a commander in World War II and must strategically utilise their forces in order to protect their weaknesses and capitalise off their strengths. Players are also able to use the varied terrain to give them an advantage in battle.
Grand Campaign ’44 West is intended to build on the features of the original with the aim of creating a never before seen campaign experience. Players will be able to rank up their forces as they successfully complete each campaign, with new experience and equipment unlocked after successful battles, with troops from the main game also carrying over into the expansion. However, if the player so desires, they can use a preset force instead and jump straight into a specific scenario.
Grand Campaign ’44 West borrows heavily from historical battles, with playayers be able to use their veteran troops to continue the fight in Italy or fight in a desperate defense against the Allied invasion. As they continue through the DLC, players will have the opportunity to take part in 14 scenarios based on real battles such as Operation Market Gardener and Cassino, all from the German point of view.
Grand Campaign ’44 West is an add-on to the main game, and so requires a copy of either Panzer Corps or Panzer Corps : Afrika Corps in order to play. Both the original game and the add ons can be found at Matrix Games or at Slitherine.
