Oddworld InhabitantsOddworld Inhabitants, developers of the hit series Oddworld, have announced the release of two games on the PS3 and Vita in time for the holiday season.. Both titles are HD remakes of old Oddworld games that have been developed with the help of the independant company Just Add Water. The CEO of Just Add Watter is “excited to give new and old fans on Playstation” a chance to play the games.

The first title that the two companies are working on is Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD for Vita, available in North American on the 18th of December and Wednesday 19th in Europe. Players control a powerful bounty hunter named Stranger and must collect bounties on outlaws in order to raise enough money to undergo a mysterious medical operation. As the player progresses, they begin to uncover the secrets surrounding Stranger. The Vita version of the game boasts a reworked UI that takes advantage of the touch abilities of the Vita. Players can also use the touch screen for specific in game actions including features like using the back panel for hand over hand climbing or tapping the sides of the screen to beat up opponents. The HD remake also features leaderboards that allow players to compare the time it takes them to finish specific bounties or levels with other players around the world. The second game being remade is Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee HD on PS3 which will be available in Europe on December 19, with the North American release still to be decided. Players must use special psychic powers, powerups and special abilities as they control Abe and his partner Munch in their quest to recover the rare Gabbit eggs. The remake features a tighter control system as well as new audio and art assets, all of which take advantage of the Playstation’s capabilities. The HD version also gives players access to new concept art.

Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD will be priced at $14.99, €11.99 Euros or £9.99 punds while Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee HD will launch at 9.99 USD, €8.99 or £7.99. More info can be found here.
