The Pokemon Company announced that the top four winners in each age bracket from the 2012 Pokemon World Championship would be used as the basis for the Pokemon World Tournament. The events will begin on October 22 through the Nintendo wi-fi service. This tournament will allow players of Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 to fight against the teams used by world champions, including Masters Division World Champ Ray Rizzo, Senior Division World Champ Toler Webb, Junior Division World Champ Abram Burrows, and other top finalists.

In order to participate you need either Pokemon Black 2 or Pokemon White 2, a DS or 3DS, and wireless internet. I’m guessing you’ll also need to be really good at pokemon, or else you’re going to get your butt kicked. It looks like these folks take this stuff seriously, so put away that Pikachu that you refuse to allow to evolve.
