Red Bull Media House has announced that they are co-publishing an Xbox Live Arcade title, with Microsoft Studios, titled ‘Red Bull Crashed Ice Kinect’, developed by Bongfish, an Austrian studio.
The team was behind the snowboarding hit title ‘Stoked’.
“For any developer it’s a huge opportunity getting their hands on a fresh IP like Crashed Ice,”
shared Michael Putz, Game Director at Bongfish.
“Combining the nature of this unique sport with the power of Kinect should result in an outstanding experience and evolve digital sports to its next level.”
The game is expected for a Winter 2012/13 release date, and will be playable for the first time at PAX which starts August 31st (tomorrow) through to September 2nd, at Microsoft booth #432.
The game promises to be the most intense winter sports party game experience (it will certainly be a lot safer and warmer). The game will have you competing in a four-at-a-time down hill skate out down an ice cross downhill track, at intense speeds. You will be making winding turns, pulling off tricks in a race to the finish, all using your body as the controller using the Xbox 360 Kinect.
You will be able to pick from 5 downhill tracks, as previously raced in Red Bull Crashed Ice World Championship events.
Xbox Live will allow players to fight for the Ice Cross Downhill World Championship title, by racing with other players worldwide.
It will provide fast, fun, and exciting Ice Cross Downhill gameplay, powered by Kinect.
It will allow you to experience the sights, sounds and excitement of the Red Bull Crashed Ice events.
It will offer both split-screen and multiplayer competition, with fun party modes.
You will be able to compete on 5 tracks from the real Red Bull Crashed Ice event locations.
