The beloved Sam & Max series is now 25 years old, and to commemorate that, there is going to be a sale. If you remember the release of the game, you’re old too. I don’t remember it because I wasn’t born yet, but I want to make it clear that if you do remember it you’re not too far away from getting those sweet senior discounts I hear are so popular.
I’m looking forward to the days when this generation is playing games on Steam, or whatever console/gaming service will be popular at our nursing homes. We’ll probably still be anxiously awaiting the release of Half Life 3.
Sam & Max games will be available at discounted prices on several consoles and online services. On XBLA through September 10th, it is 800 Microsoft Points per season which includes Sam & Max: Beyond Time & Space and Sam & Max: Save the World. Steam will have the Sam & Max Complete Pack for $14.99 from September 13th through the 16th, and their pack includes all three seasons.
The App Store has a sale from now until October 1st, and it will be $.99 for all individual episodes in the Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space season. The Playstation Network will have different sales depending on whether you’re in America or Europe. In the U.S. the sale starts now and will continue until October 2nd; the deal being a $20 Bundle Offer for Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse and Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space, or $12.99 for each individual season.
In Europe, the sale goes from now until October 5th, where it is €12.99 for each individual season, including Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse and Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space. And if you’re looking to buy it on a Dreamcast, I’m sorry, you’re out of luck. You got ripped off, but to ease the pain, you should play more Space Channel 5.
