“Sins” coming to UK and EMEA

Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion is finally making its way to PCs across the UK and EMEA.

European publisher and distributor Kalypso Media made the announcement this week. The retail version of the stand-alone game will come with exclusive items, including a fully illustrated manual, CD soundtrack, double-sided poster and a hotkey card.

To celebrate the launch, Kalypso has released a launch trailer “providing an insight into the galactic power struggle facing the warring factions.”

Developed by Ironclad games and published by Stardock Entertainment, the “4X” (explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate) game has been making waves in the strategy genre since its initial release in February 2008. It received its first content expansion, Entrenchment, one year later. Its second content expansion, titled Diplomacy, was released another year later. Finally, its third and only stand-alone expansion, Rebellion, was released on June 2012. All previous versions have never seen a UK/Europe, Middle East, and Asia release.

As a ruler of one of three unique races, you are tasked with expanding to new worlds, gain access to resources and artifacts, construct shipyards and fleets, and establish trade with neighbours, among other things. The game blends turn-based with real-time strategy, and can be called Civilization in space.
