Activision Publishing, Inc. announced that as of the 30th of June 2013 Skylanders has outsold all the other action figures in both America and Europe.

If you have ever seen these toys on the shelves then you will know that these are both everywhere and surprisingly expensive. The main appeal to Skylanders is the ability to scan them into a game and play with that character, and that shows a shift from toys and action figures to games. Which means that children are about to get more expensive as instead of a £10 teddy they will want a £40 game.
