Sonic Dash receives an update to celebrate the release of Sonic Lost World for Wii U and 3DS
Sonic Dash, the endless runner game for iOS, has gained its first boss battle in a new update to celebrate the release of Sonic Lost World. The update introduced the villain from the upcoming 3DS and Wii U game, Zazz, to the popular mobile platformer.
Featuring classic Sonic gameplay, the boss battle promises to be challenging. It will require fast reflexes, timing and accuracy to win in the fastest time possible. The timed aspect of the battle means that players can compete with their friends around the world to try and be the best.
Also included as part of the update is the Deadly Six Card Collection Challenge. Cards will be scattered across the Sonic Dash tracks, and when the entire Sonic Dash community has collected enough of these cards, anyone who took part will receive exclusive Lost World rewards.
As Zazz is just one of the members of the Deadly Six, it provokes questions as to whether any of his fellow members could be added to Sonic Dash in the future as more boss battles, or whether some of Sonic’s other classic enemies such as Dr. Eggman will make appearances as enemy boss battles.
Sonic Dash has been released on iOS since March 2013, and has received decent reviews from critics and gamers alike, while the Android release has been promised but no date has been announced as of yet. The game allows players to compete in a variety of different challenges, such as ‘Fastest Time’ or ‘Longest Distance’, and the classic Sonic rings make an appearance as a form of in game currency to allow players to unlock new tracks, bonuses and even other Sonic characters such as Tails.
The Sonic Lost World-inspired update for Sonic Dash is available now for iOS, and the Sonic Lost World game itself was released for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U on October 18th in Europe, and October 29th in North America.
