Spike Chunsoft to Publish The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in Japan

CD Projekt RED, the creators of the story-driven, open world fantasy RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, would like to announce its publishing partnership with Spike Chunsoft.

CD Projekt RED yesterday announced its renewed publishing partnership with Spike Chunsoft, allowing them to continue collaborative work on their sequel to the open world fantasy RPG The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. The sequel will be titled The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and will continue on an epic tale of might and magic on the next generation consoles the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

Spike Chunsoft was responsible for expanding Witcher 2 into previously unexplored Japanese audiences, something they intend to successfully continue with ‘Wild Hunt.’ Due to their vast understanding of the core values and mission statement of CD Projekt Red, Spike Chunsoft have been a huge part of achieving 200 awards and selling over 5 million copies of the two previous Witcher titles.

The International Business Development Producer of Spike Chunsoft, Satoru Honman expanded on the requisite for continued collaboration with CD Projekt Red.

“Although more and more quality western RPGs are now localized into Japanese, most gamers in Japan are still unaware of them. I strongly believe that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will redefine the western RPG for Japanese gamers.”

Additionally CD Projekt RED is currently developing Cyberpunk 2077 a futuristic cyberpunk RPG, in collaboration with Mike Pondsmith. Pondsmith is the original designer of the pen-and-paper Cyberpunk® futuristic RPG system, so the pairing is a natural fit. Cyberpunk 2077 has a rough estimate for a 2015 release.

‘Wild Hunt’ will be the final chapter in the Geralt of Rivia saga and will be released in 2014 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It should be certain to continue the spectacular dialogue, intricate gameplay, and complex story that has made the series truly unique. Make sure not to miss it.
