Here’s a question: If I told you that a new sports arcade game is coming out that promises multiplayer gaming for four friends, was friendly for anyone of any age, and features motion controllers, what game would you think? If you thought Wii Sports 2, then you might have forgotten the other motion controller out there. No, not the Kinect, the other motion controller! I’m talking about Sony’s Playstation Move controller! Sony has announced that Zindagi Games, Inc, are at work developing Sports Champions 2 for the Playstation 3.
Sports Champions 2 will use the Playstation Move and Playstation Eye for each sports-game. Sports Champions 2 will come with six events and five new games, along with updates to previous events like Archery. The new events include Skiing, Tennis, Boxing, Golf, and Bowling. New game modes in Sports Champions 2 include Party Play, which invites you to compete with your family and/or friends in custom, multi-sport tournaments. Zindagi Games will also include a beginner friendly control system so there is no need to calibrate the controls, making it even easier to pick up and play. Seasoned veterans of Sports Champions can choose an advanced mode if they seek the challenge of the original. Using the Playstation Eye, you can capture your successes at the game with your happy dance and upload the pictures to Facebook.
Sports Champions 2 will also let players create their own avatars with the Create-a-Player feature. Here players can customize everything about their avatar, from their outfits to animation and sound. As the player wins at the events in the game, they can unlock new content like new clothes and accessories they could apply to their avatar later. No clue on whether you could dress your avatar as Kratos while playing Golf, but maybe this could be included later in DLC.
Sports Champions 2 will be available Fall 2012 only on the Playstation 3.
