Fans of the uber-popular RTS “Command and Conquer” series who are looking foreward to the upcoming Command and Conquer 2013 will be exited to hear that in the next instalment in the series which recently finished its beta will be including single player and co-op, story driven missions due to popular demand from the fan-base.
“When we talk about the new Command & Conquer being a service, we’re really inviting the community to help drive the design process and the evolution of the game,” said Jon Van Caneghem, Vice President and General Manager, EA. “Since our announcement, the number one thing fans have asked for is new story content, and we listened. We are excited to be delivering compelling, high quality Campaign Missions that will roll out to the service in 2014.”
The first campaign missions will involve the APA (Asia Pacific Alliance) once again trying to prevent war by stabilising the world. The APA will find themselves challenged by the upstart European Union with its advanced technology and an increased agenda for expansion not to mention several bad uprisings that have decimated several satellite nations of both the APA and the EU. The supposed instigator is a reconstructed Global Liberation Army (GLA) but the tech used is far more powerful than anything seen from the GLA so either they have vastly increased the quality of their tech or the culprit is a new enemy entirely. Since both possibilities are equally bad, the APA will send an elite team to stop the latest and most bloody uprising that is targeting a EU backed dictator. Can you stop the uprisings, cripple the EU expansion effort and ultimately stabilise the world?
The new Command and Conquer 2013 is redefining the RTS genre for the next generation. While it is keeping several of the features that define the series, it will have changes that will allow you to control the battlefield like never before. It will have features never before seen in the series like Onslaught mode, a co-op mode centred around surviving enemy waves. Command and conquer will be available for free in late 2013 on the PC
