The Countdown to Sony’s Meeting Begins

The Countdown to Sony’s Meeting Begins

February 19th 2013

Sony’s big meeting is in 1 day people (depending on what date you are reading this). Why is this important, I hear you asking. Well if you haven’t heard from the many many different sources, it’s almost certain that a new Sony console will be announced, that new console being the PlayStation 4.

Now the PlayStation 4 has been at the center of a lot of speculation recently, whether that be when it will be announced, whether it will contain backwards compatibility and what the controller will look like. Personally I hope Sony stick to what works and don’t try to incorporate too much motion sensor technology because i don’t fancy having to dance just to turn the system on.

I also want them to showcase some of the new power that the PlayStation 4 will be packing, just so we know what we are in store for. Hopefully all these answers and more are answered on the 20th of February, when Sony spill the beans about their new console.

The interesting thing however is what Microsoft’s reaction to the whole thing will be. The main question in my mind is whether or not it will encourage them to release details about the next Xbox System, because i don’t know about you guys but i hate being left in the dark for so long about something that is obviously going to once again steal my social life away from me. Sony might start the ball rolling for Microsoft, fingers crossed.

However, is it really time for us to start neglecting our PlayStation 3s? I mean sure many people say that developers have gotten every bit of juice out of the hardware to produce the best games, but that’s only what we’ve been told.

There could be so much more, untouched by developers that will be lost in the transition from PS3 to PS4. But i do believe it is time to move to a new generation of video game consoles, as these newer consoles will probably have incredible power inside them and will definately blow us all away.
